Lee McConnell is an ARIA nominated Visual Artist, Director & Animator, nationally known for his work with Dune Rats, Jack River and Mambo.
Hailing from the small seaside town of Forster, Lee takes inspiration from the strangeness of everyday reality - making it brighter, stranger and like you’ve never seen it before.
Lee moved to the Sydney to work for Mambo as an Artist then as Art Director, before leaving to work as a freelance Visual Artist for Artists and Festivals such as Splendour In The Grass, Sydney City Limits, Big Pineapple and Electric Lady.
His aesthetic has become widely recognisable, notably through his endless collaborations with acclaimed Artists Dune Rats - directing all artistic media from music videos (6 Pack) to bongs, to stage installations and animations to the album package itself. In visual worlds apart, Lee has designed all of Jack River’s single and album packages, notably her latest collaboration with Peking Duk - ‘Sugar'.
Among national exhibits and freelancing, Lee is also Creative Director of Grow Your Own Festival. From any angle you look, Lee is a burgeoning force in the visualisation of Australian music and visual art.
